About Meridian Township Supervisor Scott Hendrickson

Scott Hendrickson is married to his beautiful wife Stephanie, a Holt Public Schools teacher. They are parents to two wonderful boys and have made Meridian Township their home for more than a decade.

As a dedicated public servant, Scott has served on the Meridian Township Board since his appointment and subsequent election in 2022. In 2024, his colleagues supported him to become Supervisor Pro Tem of the Township Board. After the retirement of Township Supervisor in May of 2024, the Township Board appointed Scott to become Township Supervisor.

He previously served on the Meridian Township Planning Commission since 2019, with the last two years as Chair of that body. He also sat on the Meridian Township Zoning Board of Appeals and the Meridian Township Local Officials Compensation Commission. During his time on the Planning Commission he also acted as liaison to the Corridor Improvement Authority. He has also been an elected Democratic Precinct Delegate for Meridian Township since 2014.

Professionally, Scott is currently the Chief Deputy County Clerk for Ingham County to Clerk Barb Byrum. In that capacity, he works to ensure that elections in Ingham County are run safely and securely. He also assists Clerk Byrum in her stewardship of Birth Records, Death Certificates, Marriage Licenses, and Business Filings, managing a team of Deputy Clerks and administering a two million dollar annual budget.

Prior to joining Clerk Byrum's Office, Scott ran a small technology consulting business, which focused on optimizing collaboration and efficiency for clients. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, he focused on internal process improvement, software development, and corporate finance. During his tenure he saw revenues grow nearly 250% and scaled the number of employees to nearly double the company in size.

Scott joined the company after having spent five years as a Legislative Aide to State Senator Glenn Anderson, who served western Wayne County. Scott oversaw all constituent services, including communication, casework, and outreach. In addition, Scott helped to draft several packages of legislation including legislation to create a new pink ribbon license plate, for which the proceeds went to Breast Cancer research, and anti-human trafficking legislation.

During his time with Senator Anderson, the Senator's Office became well known as one of the most accessible from amongst his colleagues thanks, in large part, to Scott's efforts.

Scott graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green!) with a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics, a Bachelor's of Arts in French, and a Bachelor's of Arts in International Relations with a Political Economy specialization. In 2007, he was elected to be President of the Michigan State University Democratic Club. He was also Vice President of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Fraternity, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While at Michigan State, Scott served as an intern to United States Senator Carl Levin.

In his free time, Scott can be found spending time with his family, traveling as much as possible, enjoying local parks and trails, and playing a board game with friends.
